When searching for rentals in Order Creation > Open Item, if you want to see only one store, 

1) Configuration > Companies > Sorting tab
If the 'Current Sorting' column has just one store, you will see rentals from just the one store.
If the 'Current Sorting' column has multiple stores, you will see rentals from the additional stores.

2) Control Center > Users > Preferences > Store Filter - Defaults
File Lists:  Current or User Home Store
Reports:  Current or User Store
