When an existing part number changes, or different vendors use different part numbers for the same item, the 'supersede' functionality can be used to allow you to search for either part number.
1) Control Center > Store Manager > Inventory tab > 'Use SuperCede Functionality' should be checked.
2) Inventory > Merchandise > select the existing Merchandise Item > Part Number History tab
Click Here to add new Part Number (yellow arrow)
Add the new / additional Part Number > Save
3) Front Counter > Order Creation > Item Lookup > Merchandise by Part Number > you will be able to find the Part by either the Part Number or the number added on the Part Number History tab.
4) Front Counter > Quick Sale
- Part No search (on left - green box) will find the part by either the Part Number or the number added on the Part Number History tab, if the full part number is entered.
- As of 7/17/2025, the number entered on the Part Number History tab, when entered in Merchandise Lookup (on right - red box), will not be found. Bug 6125 created to address this.
